The Recommended Route
Most guests travel via Munich, Salzburg, Villach and the Karawanks Tunnel into Slovenia. From there, continue through Koper and the Dragonja border crossing directly to Poreč. This route is fast, comfortable and particularly well suited for motorcycle trailers.
Tolls and Vignettes
Valid motorway vignettes are required for Austria and Slovenia. Additional toll charges apply on the Tauern Motorway and at the Karawanks Tunnel. As toll fees may change, we recommend checking the latest rates before starting your journey.
Traffic Tips
During the summer holiday season, delays can occur, especially at the Tauern Tunnel and Karawanks Tunnel. If your schedule is flexible, travelling outside peak holiday periods is highly recommended.
Alternative Route via Italy
If long waiting times are expected at the Karawanks Tunnel, the Italian route is an excellent alternative. From Villach, travel via Udine and Trieste to Koper, then continue through the Dragonja border crossing to Poreč.
